There will be a Workers' Party (WP) election rally for tomorrow (May 19) between 7pm and 10pm.
A permit was issued for the election rally, the police said in a statement. It will be held at the open field in front of Blk 837, bounded by Hougang Ave 4 and Hougang Central.
Two sites have been designated by the police for election rallies. The other is Hougang Stadium.
Rallies can take place from May 17 to 24.
The WP will be fielding 50-year-old businessman Png Eng Huat as its candidate. He will go against the People's Action Party's Desmond Choo, 34.
The electoral division of Hougang SMC will have a total of 23,368 voters. They will go to the polls on May 26.
Voters will have 12 hours, from 8am to 8pm, to cast their ballots at nine polling stations.
The result is expected to be announced by 11pm, provided that there are no recounts. There will be two counting centres - at Serangoon Secondary and Holy Innocents' Primary.
A recount is permitted if the difference in votes between the two candidates are less than two per cent of the total valid votes cast.
