"我們有一個願望,希望香港人不但擁有一人一票的權利,還可擁有提名權,可以更民主,挑選一個更有代表性的特 首。“
"We have a dream that everyone in HK will not only have a vote but also have the right to nominate anyone so that we can elect a Chief Executive who be truly representative."
But.....
“這班鄉下佬,只要你能給予他們想要的利益,莫說是得到提名票,祠堂拆掉給你也可以!“
"Those poor idiots, as long as you keep feeding them with peanuts, they will not only sell their votes, they can sell their mothers also!"
CY Leung : "Poor people cannot have free elections, esp the right to nominate anyone they like. They can be easily manipulated by unscrupulous politicians. It's best to leave the nominating process in the hands of a small clique of rich elites who know what is the best and who are the best for HK...................... that is as long as our Chicom masters can continue to feed these rich elites with peanuts... "
"Meanwhile , poor people should follow the WP for shopping and eating and travelling, and leave the complicated matter of political issues in the hands of few good men. Towards a First World LegCo !"
Competition is good. During the 1970s and eatly 1980s, HK TV dramas were highly popular because of cut-throat competition between TVB and Rediffusion TV. But ever since TVB had defeated Rediffusion TV (later ATV), it had a monopoly over the HK TV market. Without competiton, TVB had been lethargic, stagnant and unable to make a breakthrough. Meanwhile, Korea TV drama began to dominate due to its democratisation process after many years of oppression but also very intense rivalry among the 3 TV stations.
Finally, a new TV station has arrived in HK which will give TVB a run for its money. Hoepfully, this will rejuvenate the HK TV industry so that they can again compete with each other to produce more good shows for everyone and to bring back the former glory of HK TV.
