How many of you have tried doing the do-it-yourself stuff - be it fixing the cabinet bought from Ikea, fixing a leaking pipe or assembling some electronic gadgets?
You will notice that fixing it was much harder; dismantling it was much easier. Come to the worse, just smash it - no need for alignment or correctness. The same with buildings - harder to design and build than to tear it down.
The same with politics. Elected government takes time and much effort to put policies and laws in place to solve problems or challenges. For the opposition which comes into power, it is easier to dismantle these policies and laws or abolish them.
I think Hougang for the past 20 years has not come up with anything new or innovative - or to fix new things. The most they did was simply to copy what the PAP had done for the other constituencies - and to generate some noises if Hougang is omitted.
It's time Hougang needs some fixing for its residents.
