whoever created mee siam should have added hum and fish cake slices to it, just like laksa. it is the stingiest sinkie dish besides mee rebus with hardly any ingredients in it except one lousy half of a hard boiled egg, some shallots, bits of tua pok, and tiny traces of fried baby shrimp. this loong is a genius. he is telling mee siam cooks to think outside the box and consider other ingredients besides the usual crappy excuse of original "authenticity." authenticity my foot! this dish definitely deserves improvements and more choices of ingredients.
