That is an unfair statement. Those Singaporeans are sane and made the best choice for themselves.

If the oppositions had been more credible, they would have voted for them. Look at the WP, they have no problems getting votes with all candidates getting more than 40% of the votes. They even retain their Hougang seat.

If it wasn't for GY, PAP would have fared a lot worse then it did. If MBT have been transferred here. Opposition would probably have won at least 60% of the vote

probably closer to 72% of the votes.

I believe George Yeo is being pulled down by Lim Hwee Hua. The comments she made about Tin Pei Ling and Low Thia Khiang, irks the voters. This makes the votes even more determined to vote for the Workers' Party. She is reported to only have 40% vote share in her ward.

George Yeo made a last miniute feeble attempt to promise to transform the PAP from within if he is given the mandate in Aljunied. Frankly speaking, GY has been in politics for 23 years and it took him only in a last minute rally to realise and admit that the peole are angry, would you trust him to transform the PAP or the formidable WP team? the choice is obvious, isn't it.

It has little to do with what you said. GY is extremely popular within Aljunied and also GY is one of the ministers who have done a good job and no major screw up over the last few years. He is also well known to be a very good guy.

Leaving GY in Aljunied is the only fighting chance PAP has against the relentless assault from WP. The problem was the rest of his team is not that well liked + MM repent statement really made his work harder. LHL gave him a lifeline with his apology and GY's video near the Polling day gave him a last fighting chance but it was too little too late. Had the latter 2 came earlier in the election, the fight would have been a lot closer.
