MPs are elected by the people of the constituency to represent their best interest. If their MPs cannot protect or serve the residents to the fullest then they are obviously not doing a good job.

When residents of the constituency say NOT to a plan and the MPs representing them cannot fight for their rights then they are useless and have to be replaced.

Another example of them not working hard enough for their residents, http://theonlinecitizen.wordpress.com/2008/05/07/aljunied-town-council-taking-the-easy-way-out/

Are these Members of Parliament to busy with their higher order role resulting in their faiure to perform their task as an MP which give them their higher portfolio in the first place.

Are you too busy to serve the people of Aljunied GRC?
1) Minister George Yeo (busy all year round)
Minister for Foreign Affairs
MP for Aljunied GRC

2) Mr Zainul Abidin Rasheed
Senior Minister of State (Foreign Affairs)
Mayor, North East CDC
MP for Aljunied GRC

3) Mrs Lim Hwee Hua
Senior Minister of State (Finance) & (Transport)
Vice Chairman of Aljunied Town Council
MP for Aljunied GRC

4) Mr Yeo Guat Kwang
MP for Aljunied GRC
Vice Chairman of Aljunied Town Council
CASE President

5) Madam Cynthia Phua
MP for Aljunied GRC
Chairman of Aljunied Town Council
Too busy - http://theonlinecitizen.com/2008/05/a-confused-aljunied-grc-mp

I never doubt their commitment to serve the Nation but their priority may have changed. Top on the list "Serve the residents!"

what I "love" most of all are the papers kept on focusing on the "meet the peoples session" which the residents are very satisfied with the MPs.

Those "meet the peasants or RC functions" are attended by a very small percentage of residents ( 5% or lower )

8 out of 10 residents probably never meet their MPs at all expect during election time when the PAP MPs and the Opposition candidates come on house to house visits.

meet the people is only once or twice, or maybe thrice a week for about 3 hours each session. just how many could they handle?

it's the IT era. each ward should have a "emailing department" where residents could just email them their problems or plights. then the mp or his asst could arrange an appointment for a more personal meet up to aid the aggrieved resident.

of course some of the petty and ridiculouse problems from residents should be filtered out and handled by mp's assts or ka kias.

mps are also humans. they have their own family and own personal life. we must also be mindful about that to be fair.

These MPs seem to serve their master more than representing their peasant. It is like no money no talk if policies are not profitable to the MPs.

does the SDP followers ever object or disagree with their master by the way?even if he acted foolishly, did anyone in that group ever DARE to voice it up to him and highlight the imminent misfortune that could be lying ahead? if they dare said they did and fully agreed with him. GOOD!!

this bunch of people should either qualify to be our elite commandos or they could be terrorists in the making.
