University Park housewife admits to trading in child porn

A University Park housewife has admitted in federal court to downloading and sharing child pornography.
Erika Susan Perdue, 42, who used the screen name, “Classybitch,” acknowledged as part of her guilty plea on Tuesday that she traded child pornography while her husband was at work as a successful attorney.
The government has agreed to a sentence of 14 years in federal prison as part of the plea deal, which a judge has to approve.
Perdue had been distributing child pornography since 1999 and had so much of it, she lost track of her collection, authorities said.
She confessed to using “file-sharing child pornography every day,” according to court documents.
Perdue was arrested when she unknowingly shared some of the images with undercover police, who traced it to her computer. Agents raided her $1.4 million mansion in April 2012 and found a cache of graphic videos and photos on her computer.
On Facebook, she portrayed herself as a sultry housewife and liked to pose provocatively for photos. She drove a 2010 Chevrolet Camaro with vanity license plates “MY SYN.”
Perdue pleaded guilty Tuesday morning to one count of transporting and shipping child pornography.
She has been in federal custody since June 2012, when she was found to have violated the conditions of her release. The previous month, Perdue was indicted on charges of transporting and shipping child pornography, receipt of child pornography and possession of child pornography.
Perdue could be fined up to $250,000 when she is sentenced, and she faces a lifetime of probation when she is released from prison.
Perdue also has agreed to pay $5,000 to one of the victims — identified by the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children as “Vicky.”
Her sentencing is scheduled for Jan. 13, 2014 before U.S. District Judge Sam A. Lindsay.
One of the files police downloaded from Perdue’s shared folder was a video of a man and a woman engaged in sex with a child, court records show.
