SINGAPORE: A man who grabbed his wife by her ankles and pushed half her body out of the kitchen window was on Thursday sentenced to two months' jail.
50-year-old Jin Qilong also threw a stool at his 45-year-old wife, slapped her and threatened to burn her hair with a lighter on the same night.
The offences were committed on the night of 24 January last year in their 11th floor flat on Indus Road.
In May that year, Jin also held his wife's neck with his hand and this contravened the personal protection order that was issued.
The prosecution proceeded on two of the four charges.
The court heard that Jin had accused his wife of having an affair with a random taxi driver before he attacked her.
This was when they wanted to take a cab home with their daughter.
When the couple got home, the accused persisted in his arguments and was drinking alcohol.
The confrontation escalated after that.
In mitigation, Jin told the court that he has had a good relationship with his wife for the past one and a half years.
His wife, who was in court, also tendered a letter pleading for leniency. - CNA/xq
