SINGAPORE - Police have arrested three men aged between 38 to 59 who are believed to be involved in a case of theft from vehicle committed at Bukit Batok public housing estate.

On June 24, a woman reported to the Police that her vehicle had been broken into and her mobile tablet and associated accessories were missing.

Police officers searched the area with the aid of the tracking application installed on the victim's mobile tablet and spotted three men in the vicinity of the last reported location.

After follow-up action, the stolen items were recovered and the three men were placed under arrest.

Investigations are ongoing. They will be charged in Court on June 26.

If convicted of the crime, the suspects can be jailed for up to three years and may also be fined.

The Police would like to advise the members of the public with cars to park in well-lit areas and install an anti-theft system.

Car owners should also remove cash-cards and other valuables such as mobile phones and laptops before leaving the vehicle - even if it is for a brief moment - and ensure that the vehicle has been secured properly by winding up all windows and locking all doors of the vehicle.

Lastly, keep a lookout for suspicious characters in the vicinity. If a person is spotted tampering with vehicles, take note of their appearance, attire, height, or any other distinctive physical features and call '999' for assistance.
