The world’s largest religious festival Maha Kunbh Mela is set to happen in Allahabad from January 27 to February 25.

The Hindu event will see millions of devotees plunge into the waters of the rivers Ganga, Yamuna and Saraswati in a magnificent spectacle to cleanse themselves of sin.

There aren’t really any luxe accommodation options in town. But the Grand Continental Hotel will do nicely for a short stay. The cozy establishment has 47 rooms, a pool and an on-site restaurant, bar and pastry shop. Rates start at INR3,500 (S$79) for a Superior Deluxe Room.

For my skin colour, cleansing in Japanese hot springs is a better and more stress free way. I would rather do it together with the Snow Monkeys shown in this video than near any Ah Neh. Cheers.

i would've jumped into the water while wearing my biohazard jumpsuit .I dont understand how any person would bath in their own fecal matter and chemical pollutants. The Indian govt really needs to educate its people or clean up the fucking river. They are to worried about their religion to worry about the hazards and possible diseases they'll get. I laughed more than I should have a "Holy" river indeed... "Holy Shit" that is...
