A man has appeared in court charged with an attack in which a woman was doused in caustic fluid, leaving her with "life changing" internal injuries.
Matthew Wood, 27, is accused of causing grievous bodily harm to 19-year-old Aleena Rafiq, when she answered her door in Tividale, near Dudley.
Mr Wood's partner, Lisa Wood, 25, and mother Debbie Wood, 46, are charged with perverting the course of justice.
Miss Rafiq suffered 15% burns to her face, neck and chest.
She also sustained damage to her throat and lungs, and remains in a critical condition in hospital.
Mr Wood is also accused of wounding Mohammed Rafiq, who answered the door in MacDonald Close alongside Miss Rafiq.
Two other men were arrested on suspicion of assault, and a further man on suspicion of wounding. All three are on police bail.
Mr Wood remains in custody and the two women have been released on conditional bail.
The defendants, all of Alexander Road, Smethwick, are due to appear at Wolverhampton Crown Court on 11 July.
