What has the help got to do with court judgment? It's not asking the President to pardon him or what. It's just asking the President for help with paying the fee. If not, there'll be another round of donations from his country's citizens. Surely the taxpayers are paying for his salary and it's not too much if the citizens ask him to match dollar for dollar. It's peanuts to him lah.

He thinks, being the PM, that the judge will rule in his favour. In most cases, the judge will. But there are a few who dare to stand up the establishment and interprete the law as is without fear.
