Myth: Sinkies are not reproducing enough and the population is graying, so foreign workers have to be imported.
Myth: There are many jobs that Sinkies do not want to do, so foreign workers have to be imported.
Myth: The Malay population is over-producing and to maintain the racial composition, foreign workers have to be imported.
The Hard Truth: The MNCs are not willing to pay for Sinkies to do the jobs they are bringing in. Why? Because at the same level of expertise and experience, they can get someone younger, cheaper and less demanding from a foreign country. There is nothing wrong with that. The real issue is that the PAP has no idea how to keep the economy running without the presence of the MNCs. Thus, they have been feeding the people with lies about how the foreigners bring jobs to Sinkieland when those jobs they help create are generally low-value ones. They have also perpetuated the myths above in order to make the importation more acceptable.
I do not blame the PAP for not being able to solve the problem but I cannot forgive them for using lies to hoodwink the people so that they can stay in power and earn their unjustifiable high salaries. They have created a high cost environment but they have failed to ensure that the people are remunerated sufficiently to pay the cost.
