gonna sell it on a black market forum at $1.50 per 10m.......$60sgd......playing a video game for a couple hours......thats what u call making money from money......capitalism.....

i know a guy in game from SG,whose made nearly 450b currency buying and selling ultra expensive items in game......450 billion thats like more than $60,000 SGD......and hes still in farking UNI....sonofabytch......i think when he can go flip houses or something when he graduates.....forget about finding a job, that guy has capitalism in his blood......

and he buys and sells video game currency too,on many sites,in SG and USA.....sythe,players auction,carousell,ebay.......hes got an entire network setup and distribution chain and more than 200 clients on discord......

goddam imagine still being in school and running a business earning $100,$200 a day......while others are earning minimum wage $8 an hour working at KOI bubble tea or flipping burgers at mcdonalds.....

u should tell that to the japs during the second sino jap war.....8 years they fought and fought, till they completely exhausted and drained themselves......but they never even came close to conquering china.......

christ all these jokers.......no matter how rich or powerful the american military is........at the end of the day, planes and submarines dont conquer countries,u have to send in the infantry.......which means in order to invade china and occupy china,u need a massive army,at least a few million soldiers.....can u imagine the logistics and cost needed to deploy one million US soldiers across the pacific to south china sea,and to feed them and supply them?the war in iraq already cost 1.3 trillion by 2010 and thats with like what 50k?100k us soldiers? and do u think america is willing to fight a protracted war and sacrifice a million lives?americans are cowards through and through,

just look at how much the americans struggled with the japs in world war 2.......and avoided the germans until the very end.....1944.USA could have landed in normandy in 1942 or 1943,instead they waited until june 1944.......one year before the world ended.....

Hitler had the Schlieffen Plan whilst the Imperial Army of Japan a similar blitzkrieg plan drawn up to invade china, malaysia, singapore etc.

Your post is very strange; you criticize the United States when they were not the major power Hitler was fighting. United States was not Hitler's focus in the Great World War 2 European Theater. The United Kingdom was the focus. So what is your point?

The Imperial Army of Japan knew the United States could complicate their plans, so they surprise attacked the United States on December 13th 1941 so they could take on their main foe, the United Kingdom. The Fall of Singapore was the greatest loss of the British Army in the Great Word War II

This is not the case. The United Kingdom was the power of the day. The British Empire was the military political might, oil and resources from the Middle East and India.

Are you aware that the problems in the Middle East RE Jews/Palastine have their genesis with the British Empire?

It was the British who partitioned Palestine, and the effects are still evident today. 6 days war, all due to the British Empire

The Soviet invasion came as a fulfilment of Stalin’s promise – made to British and American leaders at the Tehran and Yalta conferences – to join the war against Japan following the defeat of Nazi Germany. But it also came in violation of the Soviet-Japanese neutrality pact signed in 1941. The Japanese leaders had been looking to the Soviets to broker a peace with the Allied Forces in 1945, despite their public declarations of continuing to fight.

The offensive therefore came as a crushing blow to Japanese resistance, especially sandwiched as it was between the dropping of the atomic bombs on Hiroshima (Aug. 6) and Nagasaki (Aug. 9).

Devastated by American nuclear attacks and without a foothold in mainland Asia, Japanese Emperor Hirohito gave a radio address announcing an unconditional surrender on Aug. 15, which was formally signed on Sept. 2, thus ending the worst war the world had ever known.

Name calling is seldom productive

When the Russians attacked the Chinese Forces in Manchuria and retreated back to Russia after the Great World War 2, Communism and Communists themselves were left behind on the Korean Peninsula.

This is one of the reasons the Korean War was fought.

Beneath the surface, China is roiling with anger
Share
A decade ago the Chinese Communist Party cracked down on a girls' TV talent show, accusing it of corrupting the morals of the nation.

Super Girl was styled on American Idol, where girls would compete for a shot at stardom. At its peak it pulled an astonishing 400 million viewers.

This was worrying to the party chiefs. They described it as "poison for your youth" and cancelled it from air.

It was the second time it had been banned — the first was in 2006, after criticism from the Chinese culture minister.

Why? Because it was importing Western values of individualism. What's more, its format of voting for contestants got too close to democracy.

When Super Girl was cancelled, one distraught fan posted on Weibo (China's Twitter): "Maybe we need another revolution."

This is just one example of how the Communist Party, for all its power, is afraid of its own people.

China scholar Susan Shirk coined the phrase "fragile superpower" to describe a nation that spends more on domestic security than external security.

Between 2007 and 2019, domestic security spending tripled to more than 1.24 trillion yuan (more than $AUD200 billion).

In areas the party considers "hotspots" — like the north-western province of Xinjiang, which is home to the ethnic Uighur Muslim population — security spending increased more than 90 per cent between 2017 and 2018.

China is on track to be the world's biggest economy. It is building a military it says can fight and win any war. So why is it so fearful at home?

Because the history of China is a history of violent revolution. Modern China was born of revolution: first in 1911 with the end of the Qing Empire, and then the bloody civil war that led to the victory of the Communist Party in 1949.

The memory of violent revolt is what spooked the Communist Party in 1989, when pro-democracy protesters took over Tiananmen Square and China's leader, Deng Xiaoping, called in the army to massacre its own people.

The Communist Party likes to give the impression of order, but beneath the surface China is roiling with anger.

Each day there are hundreds of protests across the country: from pent up frustration over things like corruption, land seizures, pollution and economic stress.

Exact numbers are difficult to ascertain, but analysts have estimated that between the 1990s and 2010, mass protests grew from fewer than 9,000 to 180,000.

Rows of men sitting down raise their hands in a great hall with the communist symbol behind them.
The Communist Party knows it cannot appear to be weak. It especially cannot show weakness to the world.(Reuters: Tyrone Siu)
Creating a 'harmonious society'
Over the past year the Communist Party has come down hard on the unrest on the streets of Hong Kong that has captured global attention.

Xi Jinping is determined to create a "harmonious society" and that means locking up dissidents, writers, artists, lawyers and political rivals.

It partly explains the sweeping detention of Uighurs and Tibetans. Just this week it has been revealed that hundreds of thousands of Tibetans have been held in military style "education camps" to be trained as surplus rural labour and schooled in the dominant Han Chinese language and culture.

Human rights groups say a million Uighurs are locked up in similar conditions.

The Communist Party says it is for education and also part of a crackdown on Uighur separatists that the party calls terrorists.

This week the Australian Strategic Policy Institute released a study of satellite imaging that ASPI says reveals 380 detention facilities in Xinjiang. And more of these camps are currently under construction.

A huge detention complex in Xinjiang seen by satellite, it has a high perimeter wall with watchtowers.
ASPI says this enormous, newly built detention complex in Kashgar, Xinjiang, could house over 10,000 people.(Maxar Via Google Earth)
China's leaders are sensitive to criticism.

Foreign journalists — including the ABC's Bill Birtles — have been either expelled from or felt pressured and threatened into leaving the country.

This week Chinese State media reported that two Australian scholars, Charles Sturt University's Clive Hamilton and ASPI'S Alex Joske, have been blacklisted for visas.

Both have written about China's influence and interference in Australia.

'Insular, paranoid and reactive'
The Communist Party knows it cannot appear to be weak. It especially cannot show weakness to the world.

The memory runs deep of what happened to the Qing at the turn of the 20th century when China's rulers were seen as feeble and corrupt, humiliated in the Opium Wars with Britain and then brought down.

As Susan Shirk wrote: "Any Chinese government that looks weak in the face of foreign pressure is likely to be overthrown."

This is the price authoritarians pay for power: they rule the people but they must rule with an iron fist, and they are always jumping at shadows.

As China scholar, David Shambaugh, has said, the CCP is "insular, paranoid and reactive".

It is a leadership that fears a talent show like Super Girl but needs to convince the world — and its own people — that it is a super power.

Stan Grant is the vice-chancellor's chair of Australian/Indigenous Belonging at Charles Sturt University and a journalist.

‘Tiger with teeth’: US move that incensed China
Why are China-Taiwan tensions rising?
‘We have no intention to fight either a Cold War or a hot war with any country,’ Chinese President Xi Jinping told the United Nations 75th anniversary. Picture: Greg Baker/AFPSource:AFP

But Beijing has a very national interpretation of international law – as the Philippines, Vietnam, India, Malaysia, Japan and Indonesia can attest to.

FIGHTING WORDS

“Both the US and Taiwan need to be prepared for a highly intense confrontation,” Hu threatened in the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) approved video.

Which is precisely the point of the US Military Review essay.

Captain Mills said the balance of power in the Western Pacific and South-East Asia was shifting away from the United States. This, he argues, means US forces will need to be pre-positioned in the area “if it is committed to defending Taiwanese sovereignty”.

He warned that a quick, successful invasion of Taiwan by China would result in a long, costly military campaign “with a far from certain outcome”.

But the relatively low-level mention of ‘trip-wire’, or pre-positioned, forces have Beijing outraged.

“I have to say advocating such a thing is lunacy because it’s bound to trigger a war in the Taiwan Straits,” Hu stated in a supplementary Global Times video published on Tuesday.

“China’s anti-secession law stipulates three conditions for resolving the Taiwan question with military means. The US forces returning to Taiwan would meet these conditions, and the People’s Liberation Army would definitely take action and engage in a just war to liberate Taiwan”.

Taiwan’s elected government, however, has a different point of view.

It does not regard being placed under Beijing’s rule to be ‘liberation’. And how can it succeed from a government it never capitulated to?

Taipei has reacted with growing alarm to the harsh crackdown upon Hong Kong’s dissidents, independent judiciary and representative parliament. It argues Beijing’s oppressive behaviour in the former British colony puts the lie to its proclaimed ‘One China, Two Systems’ policy.

‘WAR WILL COME’

“If the US and Taiwan don’t take the mainland’s red line seriously, war will come,” Hu threatened, reiterating Beijing’s demands.

Chairman Xi has repeatedly warned that any open move towards formal independence by Taiwan would be met with force. His Beijing-based government has pushed hard to exclude Taipei from all international forums – including the fight against the COVID-19 pandemic.

Now Beijing is angered by the presence of US officials on the island.

Donald Trump used his UN speech to take a swipe at China saying, ‘We must hold accountable the nation that unleashed this plague upon the world: China.’ Picture: Mandel Ngan/AFP.Source:AFP

Washington, for its part, argues such diplomatic visits have been ongoing for decades.

“If the US sends higher-level officials to visit Taiwan, the mainland will without a doubt react with more than flying PLA fighter jets over the so-called ‘middle line’ of the Taiwan Straits – such as PLA fighter jets flying over Taiwan to declare sovereignty,” a defiant Hu states.

Chinese combat aircraft began incursions into Taiwan airspace late last week when a high-level US envoy arrived in Taipei for the funeral of a past, pro-democracy president. Subsequent breaches were observed on two additional days as large-scale Chinese military drills continued around the island.

Taipei condemned these moves as “harassment and threats”.

The 1979 Taiwan Relations Act binds the US to the defence of Taiwan in the face of invasion.

The treaty followed the First Taiwan Straits Crisis of 1954 where China seized several islands in the narrow waterway between the two countries.

President at the time, Harry Truman, had sent the US Navy’s Seventh Fleet into the area to deter a mainland attack on the then Nationalist Party-held main island.

Hu obliquely referenced this standoff in his video threat: “The People’s Liberation Army is powerful now. Even if we were a little weaker than we are now, if the US and Taiwan insist on playing their cards like this, this is a war we must fight to the end, at any cost. This determination is real.”

Actually the British had lost the world greatest power by end of the great war.
The fact the British agree to US navy to be same strength as the royal navy in the Washington treaty signal the rise of US as the world greatest power. Royal Navy no longer rule the waves. Before 1914, the British national policy was the royal navy must be bigger than the second and third naval power combine. One of the main reason UK fought the German in 1914 was due to Kaiser naval expansion.

I forgot to add one more group. Those who have emigrated to Sing and still have residual ties to the mainland. How many of them are here, walking amongst us?
Having residual ties to ancestral lands also cannot? Being Chinese do not equal to be a CCP supporter. Don't like CCP also do not mean US is a righteous nation. US of farking A look after it own interests first before being the world policeman.
As for ppl wanting USA to wipe out the PLA, I personally think won't happen in my lifetime. Why? If USA won't deploy troops to get rid of fatty Kim who is threatening USA with outdated and unreliable nuclear devices, why should USA want to take on the bigger and a bit more modern fat Xi second artillery? Just going to be some sabre rattling noises to con the rustbelt voters. Will be business as usual after November.
