Deep concern: Chong showing a picture of him talking to Wang during the press conference at Wisma MCA.

KUALA LUMPUR: A 17-year-old girl who was sexually abused by her elder brother for eight years has been further traumatised when her brother sold lewd pictures of her online.

Wang (not her real name) and her 20-year-old brother have been living with relatives in Ipoh since their parents divorced 15 years ago.

Her ordeal started when she was nine.

“It started with him touching and fondling me and it progressively got worse from there,” she said over the phone at a press conference held by MCA Public Services and Complaints Department head Datuk Seri Michael Chong at his office in Wisma MCA.

Wang said she had complained many times to her parents and relatives but no one took her seriously.

“When I was 13, my brother took pictures and videos of me in the shower without my knowledge.

“Again my parents did nothing when I told them about his actions,” she added.

One night, when Wang was 15, her brother tried to rape her in the bedroom they shared. She managed to fend him off and this time her parents took him for a psychological assessment but he was said to be mentally fit.

Wang even threatened to go to the police but her parents and relatives told her that she would be kicked out of the house if she did so.

“He tried to take nude pictures of me in the shower again last year but I noticed him and screamed.

“Shortly after that he moved to Europe for work and I thought my nightmare was over,” she said.

However, on Mar 21, her brother messaged her on Facebook and informed her that he had sold her nude pictures to a pornography website for cash.

“He said he was broke and needed the cash,” she said.

When she informed her parents, they merely advised him not to do so again but Wang fears that her brother has more pictures of her and will continue to sell them.

With no one to turn to, she went to Chong for help.

“My department has received a few cases where girls are blackmailed with compromising photos but this is the first time I have seen it between siblings,” said Chong.

He added that no police report had been lodged as the brother was overseas but said he knew how to fight back if needed.

“I urge the brother to stop what he is doing or we will expose him to the world,” said Chong, adding that he would monitor this case closely.
