The original shop at sago lane is run by the eldest son/daughter.

I think the ubi one is run by the 2nd brother. He has a shop at chinatown, blk 5, 2nd floor.

The store next to alexandra village hawker center is run by another son (not sure 3rd or 4th).

all have the same formula from their father. all separate company.

it's still okay.but i think the standard has dropped. i ate the ones from taka....too sweet...the egg yoke is too dry. drop off the moment you cut....the pastry okay also too dry....the lotus paste is really too sweet.....after eating, tooth ache....

pine garden mooncakes are fighting hard to capture the market too....$10.50 for double yoke!

In the past, piglets were given free - complimentary. Now you have to pay for them. Things have changed.Everything must pay and pay.No more free this and free that. The society has changed. Traditions also become very mercenary and commercialised.

I went to Taka and bought the TaiChongKok moon-cakes. They are still very good. The double egg yokes however were a bit dry. The dark lotus paste is still good but too sweet. The baked skin is still okay, but I think it's a bit different from the past. Overall assessment not bad lah.

The I saw a stall called Chinatown TaiChongKok mooncakes. I discovered that the iconic and traditional TaiChongKok carrier bag ( brown paper with big words in red ) was not there! The package is different. The packing is different. But the mooncakes look almost the same.

Is there a faked TaiChongKok going around? If it is so, why are they doing such thing? Business rivalry? I know TaiChongKok mooncakes is a must in most households, esp for the elderly uncles and aunties.

Do you think TaiChongKok mooncakes is the BEST in town? Thank You.

There was a huge advertisement in the Shitty Times a few days ago announcing the splitting up of Tai Chong Guo into 2 separate entities or something like that. I took a quick glance but never read it in detail.
