I have been truthful in communicating the Town Council’s position on the facts of the matter concerned. Equally, there is no reason to doubt the honesty of Aljunied-Hougang-Punggol East Town Council (“AHPETC”) staff in this matter. If the Minister has any proof to the contrary, he should present these, rather than make sweeping allegations.

The Hammerroids have been pressing the PAP for proof, yet they refuse to set a good example themselves by showing proofs that the hawkers have indeed been dishonest and greedy as Sylvia 莲 has alleged so persistently:

The latest attempt to substantiate this baseless claim was to show a quotation by the cleaning contractor ATL Maintenance Pte Ltd, who has clarified that it was in response to a separate request by the hawker association and not pursuant to its contractual obligation with the Town Council to do annual cleaning of the high areas at markets / hawker centres.

Since Sylvia 莲 has insisted so hysterically that the hawkers had put up ‘a separate request that is not pursuant to its contractual obligation with the Town Council to do annual cleaning of the high areas at markets / hawker centres’, then she should prove it and elaborate on it.

People would want to know what the hell are the ‘greedy’ and ‘dishonest’ hawkers demanding from the ‘good office’ of the Hammerrhoid Town Council that are so totally unrelated to the cleaning of the market ceiling. And why is it that the Hammerrhoid contractor instead give the hawkers a quotation that is totally in ‘pursuant to its contractual obligation with the Town Council to do annual cleaning of the high areas at markets / hawker centres’.


In any First World Democracy, it is very common for politicians and elected officials to hurl insults at each other, accusing each other for being dishonest to score political points.

But no First World politicians would ever dare to publicly accuse the ordinary people and the private citizens for being greedy and dishonest. And to do so without daring to provide any proof is utterly contemptuous and very hurtful to the very ordinary people.

This stinking piece of crap must never be allowed to walk off scot-free so easily after taking such a lousy cheap shot at the hawkers.

Even more equally so, there is no reason to doubt the honesty of hawkers in Aljunied-Hougang-Punggol East Town. If Sylvia 莲 has any proof to the contrary, she should present these, rather than make sweeping allegations.

hahaha....the hawkers in Bedok must be First World ones...
they are willing to fork out extra money for additional cleaning because they care so much for public hygiene.....lol.
