Goodness gracious me! Sylvia 莲 and her ‘good office’ of the Hammerrhoid Town Council continue their relentless pursuit of profiteering by all means:

Based on the past experience of staff of our Managing Agent in managing the market in Hougang Constituency, annual cleaning of the market including ceiling and the high areas could be done without additional closure of the market and disruption of business to hawkers and customers. This can be done by taking advantage of the weekly one-day closures for markets and the hours when hawker stalls are closed.

Great, now all the hawkers are going to be forced to close their stall once a week to let the ‘good office’ of the Hammerrhoid Town Council to experiment around with their new cleaning ‘invention’.

All this unnecessary inconvenience and loss of income could have been easily avoided if the ‘good office’ of the Hammerrhoid Town Council could spare some of their peanuts on using scaffolding to do the proper and thorough cleaning. Instead they want to cut cost and make money, and thus toying around with cheaper cleaning methods.

Now, the ‘not-so-good’ hawkers have to sacrifice their income to fatten the ‘good office’ of the Hammerrhoid Town Council.

To add insult to the injury, this new cleaning ‘invention’ is not actually a new ‘invention’ as was promised by the ‘good office’ of the Hammerrhoid Town Council. It is actuallly an ancient cleaning technique used by the ‘good office’ of the Hammerrhoid Town Council for the old market at Hougang Ave 7. That market was so dirty and so run-down under the Hammerrhoid cleaning ‘invention’ that it was ultimately demolished.

Now, the Bedok hawkers are going to fall into the Hammerrhoids’ “仙人洞”, to experience and to be experimented upon by such discarded cleaning techniques.

Again, why is the ‘good office’ of the Hammerrhoid Town Council causing so much ‘unnecessary anxiety’ to the hawkers?
