Suspected gas poisoning kills 1, injures 1 Japanese

Taipei, March 7 (CNA) A suspected gas poisoning incident in downtown Taipei has killed one Japanese college student and left another unconscious, firefighters said Saturday. As of Saturday afternoon, the injured remains hospitalized.
The two females, both in their 20s and students at National Chengchi University, were found lying in their apartment by their neighbors late Friday after they smelled gas, according to the Taipei City Fire Department.
One of the students was found dead at the scene, while the other was unconscious and sent to a hospital, it said.
The cause of the incident remains unknown at the moment, the police said, adding that they are investigating the case.
