Education system - We have the best in the world, students always getting top marks and rankings in the world, NUS and other unis berry berry good. But wait ah, we need to give free scholarships for secondary and uni students from 3rd world countries who can barely speak english because these students can perform betterer and are brighter than our students. Our education system is so good that not one minister or senior govt. official including the Minister of Education send their kids to uni in singapore. what an illusion.

We live in a globalised village. The wise Singapore government knows that the best way to reach greater heights is to participate on an international scale and it for this reason that it invites the best from abroad the study in Singapore while sending Singapore's best to foreign lands to take on the world.

Your implication that Singapore should keep out foreign competition while insulating Singapore's best and brightest from the tough international stage reveals your desire for a closed system which Singapore can ill afford.
