There two ways to pronounce "flour", 'fla er' or "fla were", just like "to mah toe" or "too may toe" for tomato, but in SINgapore, our pro noun sa tion..."any old how, also can, lah!"

Flour and flower were the same word until 1830...today they are pronounced the same way because of this. Look at the etymology of the word flour.
