SPCA: Man who repeatedly hit and kicked dog identified

The Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals (SPCA) has identified a man who hit and kicked a dog early on Wednesday morning in a Queenstown housing estate.
The man was caught in a 60-second video clip filmed by a "concerned resident", who also reported the incident which took place near Block 148, Mei Ling Street.
In the clip, the man is seen slapping the dog's head repeatedly, even attempting to kick the dog which for the most part, remained seated on what appeared to be a park bench.
In a Facebook post on Thursday (Feb 18), SPCA said that the suspect was a temporary occupant of the dog owners' home.
The post said: "The owners of the dog were very upset when they found out about the abuse and were cooperative with the investigations."
The police were also called in and interviewed the suspect, who is no longer living at the residence.
SPCA said that the dog appeared physically unharmed but brought it to a veterinary clinic for a physical examination as well as an X-ray in case of any internal injuries.
"We are currently awaiting the vet's report," added SPCA.
The dog has since been returned to its owners and SPCA said it will follow up on its condition and welfare.
The dog owners have also been advised to monitor the dog over the next few days.
SPCA said will provide its investigation findings to the Agri-Food & Veterinary Authority of Singapore for enforcement actions against the suspect.
