If you do realize by now, the isd-controlled wayang party pretend to be opposition mouthpiece is screwing opposition leader Desmond Lim. What a wayang.

If you do realize by now, the state-controlled PAP mouthpiece has been sprouting spin after spin of late on how the government is helping ordinary Singaporeans cope with the recession:

1. Northeast CDC raises economic assistance from S$1.4m to S$3m

2. NTUC pledges more help

3. FairPrice extends discounts to customers till December

4. MOH to recruit 4,500 more

Chua Mui Hoong, Senior writer of The Straits Times wrote a syncophantic piece titled ’Solidarity, Spore Inc-style‘ lauding the PAP’s unique system in fostering “solidarity” with the works during a recession.

The message sent across to Singaporeans is unmistakable: only the government has the ability and prowess to “help” Singaporeans in such troubling times.

It is an irony that the PAP which has long harped on the importance of “self reliance” among citizens and eshewing “welfare” as a form of “clutches” is the prime culprit in perpetuating a ’serf mentality’ in the population.

As jobless Singaporeans become more and more dependent on the government for jobs, aid and handouts, they will naturally be grateful to them and throw their support behind them in an election thereby entrenching the PAP’s political hegemony.

It only come to our attention that Mr Chiam See Tong will be retiring by the next general election and his anointed successor to take over him as MP for Potong Pasir and party Secretary-General is Mr Desmond Lim after we visited the Sinagpore People's Party's homepage in preparation for our weekly political blogs' ranking.

As we felt this is an important matter which netizens ought to know, we have taken the liberty to write to Mr Desmond Lim to publish his facebook account and Mr Chiam's testimony of him so that you may get to know him better.

Below is an exchange of emails consisting of our request and his acquiescence:

By Desmond Lim

Why did I decide to volunteer at the Potong Pasir Town Council and MP’s Desk?

To be a leader one must have a servant’s heart like Mr. Chiam See Tong, who had displayed what is “Servant-hood”, is not about position or skill, it’s about attitude and he lived with his motto “Service Before Self” that had great impact on me and it changed “My life values” and earnestly coming forward to offering my service as volunteer at “The-Meet-The-People” session.

Recommendation from Mr. Chiam See Tong

I have known Desmond Lim (38 years) for 8 years. He is a loyal active party member. He currently holds the post of Assistant Secretary-General in the Party, he is reliable person and is indefatigable in working for the party. He is a hands-on man and gets things done promptly for the party. Desmond single-handedly is organizing the Election Campaign for the party. I believe that if he gets elected he will make an excellent Member of Parliament and will be asset to the Pasir-Ris Punggol Town Council.

Desmond is one of the pillars in the Potong Pasir Town Council. He is an engineer with wide working experience, his practical expertise covers a wide range of subjects. He can advise the Potong Pasir Town Council from building covered link ways to electrical wiring. he is also an “ideas man”, his mind is always sprouting new practical ideas. He is a very useful man to have in any Town Council.Desmond is as good natured, helpful person who gives his services willingly. His nature of willing to serve others will put him in a good steadied as an Member of Parliament.

I recommend Desmond to you whole heartedly.

Please vote Desmond to be your next Member of Parliament.

Warmest Regards

Chiam See Tong, MP for Potong Pasir
Chairman of Singapore Democratic Alliance
Secretary-General of Singapore People’s Party
