hmm... the Standard Model of the Particle theory looks so messy now, what next?

source: http://www.sciencedaily.com/releases/2013/10/131008075834.htm

The reason why it looks messy is because there are still many missing pieces in the jigsaw puzzle which in my opinion, are beyond the comprehension of mere mortals.

Every discovery that brings answers generates yet more questions.

Until the human being is capable of understanding what actually means, the answer as to what makes the universe tick will remain as elusive as ever.

So the discovery of this particle will not bring about a new age in interstellar flight? endless supply of free energy etc?? so it achieved nothing of worth?

That's what they first said when the telephone was invented.

The fact is we have yet to know what the implications will be.

Much of quantum physics was merely theoretical in the early twentieth century and served no purpose in the real world. However, it was put to good practical use when it was used to blow the Japs to pieces to bring an end to the second world war.

Today quantum physics is at work in every computing device on earth.

Religion explains nothing. It just gives mankind a reason not to bother trying to figure things out.

your belief is totally different from the great mathematician Leonhard Euler who was a devout Christian and his life was inspired by the Bible.

For every devout Christian scientist, there are 100 scientists who don't believe all the gobbledygook.

So simple. But can you understand even if I should tell you the answer?

Best for you to remain at your role of hosannas bleater to smear of shit on sole of shoe LKY, that he single handed rescued you from having to share a steel bucket to shit in with 50 families then to ask questions that your mind cannot hope to comprehend the answers.

Gravity, the weakest force of all, is the one that's causing all the problems. It simply won't fit in nicely.

They are hoping to see some signs of supersymmetry at the LHC. If not, it is back to the drawing boards for a lot of theoretical physicists.
