If a train fails to stop at the station it already means something is seriously wrong. An automatic alert should be triggered that would slow or stop the train and alert station control that immediate action needs to be taken. It can't be that the train didn't stop at the station and no one knew until someone phoned it in.

the antenna did not detect it was at the train station,the train's programme did not know anything was amiss as it was recieving incorrect feedback from its sensors or antenna so its programming assumed everything was normal and they were still in transit to the next station.although the train has been running for some time,any human logic would have understood or suspected something was going on,but the train's logic or algorithm was not sophisticated enough to understand that the train has been moving for sometime and missed a couple of stations and something was amissed.

Bro, I am still in shock about their reply on the emergency button. The fact that it does not register anywhere in their system is mind blowing incredible.

I have PRESSED the TRAIN EMERGENCY button once!..for it was a life & death emergency, to my chagrin if the train provider decide to fine me the $5,0000 as posted. True. Loopholes for terrorist to exploit too. Singapore civil servant's complacency has to change. Did we not hear Shamugam urging citizens to play part in role of identifying terror threat? What if a passenger saw a bomb ticking away, than decided to use intercom to contact the staff and get a "no signal or queue" message? Each second delay is a matter of life and dealth to the passenger inside the train but SMRT wanted you to wait because there are queues in the message to follow?

Can you imagine the growing panic as they passed the first and second station and their attempts to alert and content someone did not materialise with a response or a reply. Any sane person would be on an emotional roller coaster and praying his heart out by the 3rd station.

And these arseholes come out with a response like this. No attempt to say that they will look into improving it, ensuring that there is an immediate response to someone calling on the emergency line or even saying that the current system is inadequate to give the passengers the safety comfort and things will be looked into as a matter of priority.

Looks like the entire cabinet spend more time looking at Pritam Singh and how he manages Ajunied Hougang Town Council. Note the same day response by MOE on the scholarship matter put out by WP.

well the problem is PAP or SIngapore is a nation of bureaucrats assigned or designated to run various agencies or aspects of the country or these companies with no knowledge of the field or a lifetime of experience working with the systems or the industry.how do u expect somebody with no knowledge to figure out the shits or anticipate what will go wrong with the system or what might crop up in future?all they can do is rely on the words of their underlings that everything is working as per normal.now can u imagine if u are one of the employees maybe a senior technician whose been with the company for twenty years answering to a boss with even less of a clue than you,or worse even less of a clue than a fresh grad entry level employee.but u have to accept his authority because of his qualifications and rank and the fact hes the "chosen one".now im not saying that a ceo should know everything,a ceo is more in charge of the day to day function of the company and the vision and market knowledge for expansion and making decisions that can make or break a company,but any competent ceo,should try to preempt
but for a company specializing in transportation,perhaps its better to hire a ceo thats more suited to transport?if it was a fast food company or oreo or soft drink or nabisco company,sure hire whoever the fuck u want,but if u want to run a tech company or aerospace engineering company,maybe its better to hire someone who has a clue about tech or aerospace?

But when you are like Quack, untrained in rail engineering and not an iota of rail management skill, how do you dig out the shits? How would u even know if they are shits? If the shit bit him in the arse, could he tell if it was shit? U need some modicum of ability to see thru the truth from the shits and he does not have it. This is the problem here. And bringing over his kakis from RSAF to kiss his arse and carry his balls does not help him in differentiating the chaff from the wheat either.

The logical procedure would be to hire the back the experienced engineers that SAW PH fired in her cost cutting measures. But that would mean swallowing his pride and admit that a mistake was made. The only thing he has ever swallowed has been gay Loong's dick. And if he did hire back these experienced engineers who were paid more then the new FT inexperienced ones that Saw hire, he would have to fire the new hires. Did they sign employment contracts, what would be the severance pay for them? Also, the rehired experienced engineers will want to go on a rigourous maintenance schedule. That also means more costs. SO, everywhere he turns, means more costs and less profit. the parent company Stomachsick will call him into the office and he will get a spanking from aunty Ho for the losses in profitability. Does this sound like anthing that this asshole will do? Or do you think he will rather keep the status quo and his salary and bonuses?

That is why you Tan Chuan Jin has so much time to go to JB, eat durian, etc. That is because the numbers 2, 3, 4, person in their Ministries, stat boards, and GLCs are really running the show. The scholar takes the credit when the performance is good, but the real work is done by these subordinates who are the truly experienced ones.

In Quack and SMRT's case, something happened. Saw PH has already been there and already pissed off these subordinates that were supposed to mae her look good. Many left or many were let go to be replaced by cheaper hires who did not know what they were doing. when Quack came into this envrionment, there was no one left that could make him look good anymore. And those that could were pissed off having been passed up for promotion. hence, you have the situation that you have. Other scholars parachuted into better GLCs or stat boards that have been lucky because they have not been gutted like SMRT, and hence the subordinates know what they are doing.

the scariest thing about all these is PAP is like the captains of the seas,except unlike real captains of cruise ships,their ranks are for show only their uniforms are for cosplay,they know nothing about nothing,navigation,ship operation,seaworthiness,cargo,weather and climatology and all that crap.this goes for all ministries,be it education or health or foreign affairs or environment......they are just implementing policies and schemes and actionable items left and right,hoping that their "genius" things would somehow work out fine and the ship would make it to its final destination in one piece without hitting a iceberg along the way or something.

i like that system,sinkies are balless so they will not question authority,also sinkies are peasants,sinkies will not do anything to jeopardize their ricebowls unless they have the martyrdom syndrome like Roy ngerg.also frankly i think most sinkies are daft and stupid and just as clueless as their masters,im talking about the mass majority of the sinkie technicians and engineers.....most of them probably arent smart or gifted enough to analyze the system,break it down bit by bit,identifying the flaws and fundamental errors and come up with solutions and fixes.most sinkies are just good enough and "talent" enough to maintain it and do the occasional simple maintenance.after all sinkies are not the architect or the brainchild or designer of the system.that requires the far superior, smarter and talented aliens from outer space or americans or japs or koreans or germans or even the PRCs.

this means sinkies are unable to identify the flaws and problems of the SMRT metro system and escalate it up to their superiors......ultimately singapore is designed to sink.
