JOHOR BARU: A Singaporean man was shot twice after being involved in an argument with another man near Jalan Abdullah Tahir here Saturday.
The incident happened at around 2.35am when both men aged 40 and 50 were involved in a quarrel.
State police chief Deputy Comm Datuk Mohd Mokhtar Mohd Shariff said both men had previous criminal records in Malaysia and Singapore.
He said the police were alerted of the shooting by witnesses and that both victims were sent to the Sultanah Aminah Hospital for treatment.
He is reported to be in stable condition.
He said police were investigating the case under Section 307 of The Penal Code for attempted murder.
“We are still investigating the whereabouts of the shooter whose identity is known to the police,” he said urging anyone with information on the case to contact the police hotline at 07-2212999.
