(Bloomberg) — Singapore is seeking to expand the talent pool for artificial intelligence and data analytics in the finance sector.
The city-state’s banks and schools will work with the financial regulator on training programs that incorporate the latest AI developments and trends, the Monetary Authority of Singapore said in a statement on Monday.
“If you look at all the trends, almost every function of the finance sector requires AI,” Sopnendu Mohanty, the MAS’ chief fintech officer, said at a briefing. There is a “serious challenge” in terms of AI resources around the world, he added.
Singapore will focus on responsible AI — areas that are ethical, fair and transparent — in the finance sector, Mohanty said. Given resource constraints, the MAS will target key areas such as experimentation as well as financing investments and ideas that are commercially scalable.
The world’s rising demand for AI has spurred investments in the area, with nations seeking to build up a pipeline of talent. Singapore targets to be a leader in developing and deploying AI solutions in key sectors from health care to finance and education by 2030.

Actually, with AI, there may no longer need of Indian or any World's IT talent. AI takes over the role of Human IT talents.

AI is GENERATIVE intelligence. What just one AI developes, info is immediately shared at light speed among thousands in the neural network, to self correct, to build upon further, with no ethical constraints as AI does not feel, or any need for peer review as each's role is defined & of one singular mind. No need to conduct seminars, no need upgrading courses, etc for Human IT professionals.

What is needed are only a few hardware engineers & tech specs to maintain the neural network & huge Blockchain-like data storage banks, the huge power necessary & a dedicated officer to analyse & execute operations base upon the best options available by AI.

Just hire CECA talents already trained by their bestest schools! Sinkies are useless people only good for washing test tubes and food delivery.

Most Singaporeans will qualify as programing is taught at very young age here, although in this era of AI, they may have to switch to other courses for better career prospects.

The Neural network already exists - media, social media & trusted paid subscriptions sites of accademia & tech sites.

The program needed is just a search engine type to TRAWL thru those sites based upon keywords & then to compose such info into readable format based upon algorithms Such programs already exist & are open source.

However, pics & animation AI are of a different programming skill. They are for image manipulation & best avoided until sensible regulations are in place as it conflits with virtues of the professional world based upon trust.
