A dishwasher and her "husband" were jailed for lying to the Immigration and Checkpoints Authority (ICA) that he was staying in her Ang Mo Kio flat.
A district court heard on Thursday that Nurhuda Azman, 21, had signed an application for a visit pass to extend Kulvinder Singh's stay here. As his local sponsor, she confirmed he was residing with her although he was really staying in a hostel in Balestier.
Nurhuda was sentenced to one month's jail.
Singh, 21, had been jailed for six weeks earlier this month. He too had pleaded guilty to making a false statement to the ICA.
