Luiz Felipe Scolari has been handed an advisory position in the Brazil set-up, upon request from the nation's Minister of Sport, Aldo Rebelo.

The purpose and duties of his new role are yet to be disclosed, but it is believed that the 64-year-old will act as an ambassador for children and be involved in the South American country's Second Half government program, which is responsible for improving sporting development ahead of Brazil's hosting of the 2014 World Cup.

"I've been a PE teacher before and the kids taught me a lot. This is another opportunity to be involved with them," the former Chelsea and Portugal boss told reporters.

Rebelo, Minister of Sport, also gave his thoughts on the appointment of his new consultant.

"It is an honour to receive the presence of a Brazilian world champion. We're already hosting the World Cup, so we must value football for future generations, who are the children."
