Why New Zealand? No idea, so remote. Nothing to offer.
Now then that's not a nice thing to say about a country that has produced many Olympic gold medal winners and world champions, F1 motor racing teams, Nobel prize winners, renowned explorers, epic academy award winning movies etc.
A far more relevant question is why NZ is wasting their time hosting that twit from a country which has nothing to offer the world except a couple of casinos.
With the crap employed at CAG, we can expect to lose everything. I am confident.
PM Lee's dream is for all other countries to use Singapore as a hub for mutual connection,an outdated idea inherited from Holy Goh,the peanut man.
There is one area of cooperation that we should consider seriously which is foreign emigration. What I mean is that NZ is choked with sheep whereas Singapore has none. NZ should migrate some of these beloved animals over so that Singapore could develop a new cuisine based largely on mutton for the world market.
Singapore has never been on the radar of any Kiwis and it offers absolutely nothing. All the connections have already been established and this happened long before any of his visits.
Enterprising immigrants from China, Korea, Malaysia, Vietnam, Cambodia, Taiwan.. every Asian country under the sun have set up companies so that specialise in establishing trade and business links for Kiwi businesses wanting to venture into Asia while prominent Kiwis have already extended their roots beyond NZ shores. EG former NZ PM Jenny Shipley is on the board of the China Construction Bank for the specific purpose of cementing business ties between the two countries.
No Asian country has a high opinion of Singapore and I doubt very much if any of them believe that Singapore involvement will add any value whatsoever. On the contrary mention "Singapore" and a derogatory response is the norm.
