How about cost of living? - Cost of living studies by external organization is bias and does not reflect real situation on the ground. While a basket of items is used to determined how expense essential items are. Items does not defer from country to country which is a problem because we have different practices in different countries. In the west they eat sandwiches but here we eat rice. If we use sandwich as a standard it brings up the cost significantly. Similarly, we do not rent our house, rental is usually as expensive if not more so then buying a BTO. Most Singaporeans also do not own cars, we take public transport. If we add a car into the mix, cost goes up 1700-2K a month however if I take public transport I won't even pay more than $200 a month. These are items used in calculating cost of living by most organizations which totally ignore the actual situation on the ground

Government public debt? - Almost all Government public debt is your CPF money. U want them to have 0 debt? Countries like EU and America do not include pension and other money they owe citizens in pension and other social spendings in their debt. Singapore is more transparent then them. If we follow EU and America practice, Singapore will have close to 0 debt
Most unhappy nation.- Subjective. There are just as many survey that shows we are happy
Most crowded country. - As a small country with 0 rural areas we will always be at the top as a country however Singapore is no where near the top 20 densest city in the world proving that we are not as overcrowded as you think.
Household debt.- Singapore has one of the highest home ownership rate in the world naturally the household debt will be high. Unless you want everyone to move to rental model it will stay that way
Press freedom index. - Freedom of Press index have no bearing on whether the news is credible or not. We have laws that allow defamation suits against the press which is why we rank low. Ironically because the press can be sued it ensures that only true and authenticated facts are published making them more credible than other country's press

Birthrates. - Almost all first world countries have the same issue. Other countries have rural areas which traditional help makeup for the shortfall in cities. Singapore is 1 big city that's what makes it worse
