Nobody gets sued if they have no credibility. Roy has touched more than just a nerve. There has been growing concern about the CPF. In 2011, the Govt had to carry on its MOF website a series of clarification on the use of reserves and the CPF. GIC and Temasek were also caught up in it and had issue similar clarification but the noise has not died down.
These things will fester and continue as the PM and the Govt have not been clear about the CPF and its returns. These are funds belonging to individual Singaporeans. The issue are
1) what are the actual returns on CPF funds invested by the Govt.
2) are account holders getting a fair share of the returns.
3) The special bonds appears to be convenient excuse and a screen after which the savings go into an Investment pot. Once they are in the pot, are they conveniently deemed no longer to be CPF savings.
Temasek actually made this statement in Sept 2012
"Temasek does not manage these public purpose funds. Temasek also does not manage or invest CPF savings of Singaporeans, or the foreign reserves of Singapore."

Blogger Roy Ngerng apologises to PM Lee for alleging CPF funds misappropriated
SINGAPORE - Blogger Roy Ngerng has on his blog and in a letter to Prime Minister Lee Hsien Loong's lawyer apologised to Mr Lee for a May 15 post alleging CPF Funds were misappropriated
He is also appealing against Mr Lee's demand for damages.
In a post on Friday morning, Mr Ngerng said he admitted and acknowledged the allegation is false and "completely without foundation."
"I unreservedly apologise to Mr Lee Hsien Loong for the distress and embarrassment caused to him by this allegation," he added.
A public apology was one of the things Mr Lee had asked for in a letter of demand sent on Sunday. He also asked that the post alleging the misappropriation of CPF funds be taken down immediately and that Mr Ngerng pay for his legal costs and compensate him for damages.
Mr Ngerng took the post down on Monday night, and also removed links to the post on his two Facebook pages.
But he is appealing against damages. A letter sent by his lawyer M Ravi Friday morning to Mr Lee's lawyer Davinder Singh stated that Mr Ngerng, a health-care worker, earns a modest income.
The letter added that Mr Ngerng welcomes a chance to have an open discussion with Mr Lee on the CPF issue.
On Wednesday, Mr Ngerng announced he had applied to be a Nominated MP and hopes to discuss national issues like CPF and education in Parliament.
