这起悲剧发生在昨午5时30分左右，地点是后港中路第852座组屋5楼的楼梯口。
死者已被证实是18岁的少女钟绮芯，洋名Destiny，生前是共和理工学院学生。她和家人同住在碧山一带双层排屋，相信家境不错。
据了解，死者疑是和年龄相仿的男友感情生变，才会一时想不开，跑到男友家寻死。
记者昨天接获通知赶往现场时，只见组屋楼下停了四五辆警车和一辆救护车。
目击者表示，救护人员赶到现场后，为死者进行急救近10分钟，无奈还是不成功。
住在事发地点同层其中一间单位的死者男友，事发后在封锁线内协助警方调查。不久后，死者的一名女同学也赶到现场。
据知，少女是使用白绳，捆绑在楼梯旁扶手上，然后将自己悬空吊死。据悉，事发时她身穿蓝色上衣和黑色的裤子。调查人员从现场取走少女的一双银色包鞋，黑色夹克和手提袋及相信用来上吊的白色绳子。
