I have seen and know of many cases in the SAF where an NSmen or regular died in some accident. They are not there voluntarily like Gurkhas, and they are not paid a high salary (like Gurkhas are when they use Sing dollars in Nepal), they sacrifice 2 years or their lives and sometimes their own lives. But there are no monuments to them, no recognitions, no awards. their deaths are swept under the table and covered up when possible. They are punished for their NS duty by not being hire by employers who prefer FTs that don't have to do reservist duty. Charles Ah Quah should start by recognizing these native born singaporeans FIRST instead of these Gurkhas mercenaries. Charlies really should have his brain examined.
