The Tuas West Extension will be 7.5km long and it will begin after Joo Koon Station. The four new stations are at Tuas along Tuas Road; Tuas Crescent along Pioneer Road; Tuas West near Tuas Avenue 12 and Tuas Link located just outside "Raffles Marina Country Club."

Ok lets piece the info together abit and see the future implications for Puteri Harbour Community.

CIQ - to be completed soon.

To Singapore Transport Options:

a) Fast Ferry to Harbourfront (1 hour)
- Tourists k visit Sentosa attractions like RWS
- Expats working in Harbourfront or Pasir Panjang Biz Hubs
-(xxx please add here if you bros k think of anything else)
-(xxx please add here if you bros k think of anything else)
- Those working elsewhere k connect via MRT lines at Harbourfront

b) Water Taxi to Raffles Marina (20min)
- Link onto the Tuas Link MRT station outside Raffles Marina Country Club
- Expats working in Tuas and International Business Park k alight along the
line.
-(xxx please add here if you bros k think of anything else)
-(xxx please add here if you bros k think of anything else)
- Those working elsewhere k connect via MRT lines

These are what I try (as much as possible) to sum up bits n pieces of info contributed by various brothers n sisters, and identify the interest grroups that will be tempted to use such a transport alternative. (Lets leave the fees and ferry frequencies aside first since the info is not out yet). Maybe other bros n sis k help to add on... so that we have a clearer picture of ultimate end user market of Puteri Harbour, then we k determine it maximum potential for rental yields n capital gains.

Think the ferry and water taxi services not officially confirmed. A lot of hear say only. If confirmed probably may not so soon as no critical mass yet. If course the earlier they start the better as I am vested there.

Start of Ferry services was informed by sales of UEMland. There's pressure by Legoland that ferry services be openedasap.
Water taxis maybe delayed as the demand is not there yet.

I am staring at Darling Harbour in making. They have the similar type of lagoon and berthing facilities. They use water taxis to go to the Sydney Ferries. They have alfresco dining and even a similar old ship restaurant. It is mostly mid upper market shopping there, and so is PH.
I am also imagining water taxis to Danga Bay and CBD areas from PH.

And PH is designed by Cox Architects, a very famous Australian firm.

Thats great add, Funniman

I understand clearance by PSA not given yet.

According to the JB Redevelopment plan:

2014-2016

8.2 Water Taxi Terminal At Lido Boulevard
8.3 Tanjung Puteri Marina and Terminal

There's connectivity by the time PH is fully developed.

Worst case scenario:

PSA don't allow ferry to be operated. There's nothing to stop water taxis/ ferries to go to Danga Bay, Desaru, CBD or even to Indonesia islands.
No one will want to build a CIQ without some kind of approvals. The people behind UEMland will make sure things are done.

hi Valdez, I understand yr concern. Its more of a visualization process for brothers here whom are already vested. And really nothing far fetched I suppose..

Hi Dfiris, Funniman & Valdez:

Thanks for your opinions on the future Puteri Harbour CIQ Ferry. It is always good to to be aware of the driving factors, benefits and the risk factors. There is no reward if there is no risk.

I recently read a nice article on the risk factors of investing in Iskandar. Now sure how relevant this is to the discussion. But just wanted to share a quote from this article ......

........ quote from Donald Trump, one of the richest men who made his fortune through real estate, "Every day, you'll have opportunities to take chances and to work outside your safety net. Sure, it's a lot easier to stay in your comfort zone…but sometimes you have to take risks. When the risks pay off, that's when you reap the biggest rewards." Despite the uncertainty, those who have the gumption for risks and the financial ability to hold could potentially find some gems and make money there. Only time will tell if investing in Iskandar will pay off.

And may I add a quote from Robert Kuok during his interview with a TV station:

Q: There are so many business opportunities out there. How do you know which one is the right one?

Robert: Every business has it own risk. You need to be brave enough the grab the opportunities. If there is a risk and you scare, then you run away. If you run away and get a better opportunities, that is still okay. However, if every time you run away, you will never be rich and successful.

Well said. In fact, I might bring forward my retirement plans cos our kids will find it easy travelling to their universities like NTU or NUS.

My first posting. I decided to name myself Teega as I have just bought a unit there. Just to share my experience.. I reached there at 730 am. Interestingly, I saw some ang moh at the front of the queue! Behind my queue, there was even a property agent from Huttons(marketing agent for Encorp). Almost everyone right in-front of me were buying 3 units. When the UEM lady asked me how many units I was buying(she was actually getting 3 forms for me..) Then, I said, "Sorry,.. I am buying one unit".

Thats funny .....

Welcome to the forum and congrats on your purchase!

Thanks for sharing the experience. Did you buy for investment? If you don't mind sharing ......

IskandarRocks, I'll treat it as a holiday home first as I have very young children. Hopefully there will be more theme parks coming up.

Bukit Indah took about 15-20 years b4 there is any rental market. PH might be shorter as I believe the state / southern federal govt tgt with UEM will try to create some buzz at PH to attract foreigners / local to stay there since this is consider the 'jewel' of Nusajaya. However, one still need at least 10 years before the rental market develop.
