Yusheng (also spelt as Yu Sheng) meaning raw fish is a Chinese New Year dish, served traditionally on the seventh day of Chinese New Year. Today, hundreds of residents and friends of Punggol East joined us in tossing for prosperity and good health at this mega lo hei event. We are also glad to share that today, we have broken the Singapore Book of Records for the largest Yusheng character formed by a Chinese character, measuring 36.9 by 18 meters! This record is currently held by Punggol East Constituency Committee!
We would like to thank our generous sponsors for making this multicultural community event possible and that our residents and friends have learned more about this great Chinese tradition through this event. This marks the end of our Chinese New Year celebrations and we would like to wish all residents and friends of Punggol East good health and prosperity in the year of the Horse!
