as of 2015, 김 (金, Kim) is shared by nearly/roughly 11 million of South Korea's nearly/roughly 50 million citizens, so that's slightly more than 20%; but if you meant the entire Korean peninsula, maybe you were thinking about the total population of both North and South Korea, which is roughly 75 million (because North Korea's population is roughly 25 million)?
