WOODLANDS MURDER
Police seek Woodlands killer
Victim's family coping but still puzzled over why she was stabbed
By Kimberly Spykerman
Ms Hoe Hong Lin, a permanent resident, was walking home last Wednesday when she was attacked near a basketball court in Woodlands.
THE police have identified a man who may have been involved in the murder of a woman next to a basketball court in Woodlands last week. They said the man, believed to be Chinese, was last seen running away from the Mandai Tekong Park near Block 895C Woodlands Drive 50, where 32-year-old Hoe Hong Lin's bleeding body was found last Wednesday.
The man is slim, and was clad in a dark, short-sleeved top and trousers at the time. An eyewitness said he was sprinting towards the carpark along Woodlands Avenue 5. That night, Ms Hoe, a clerk and permanent resident here, is believed to have been attacked after celebrating the Mid-Autumn Festival with her family.
Her husband and 10-year-old son realised she had been stabbed only when they saw police cordoning off the area. The couple also have a six-year-old daughter. Ms Hoe's family is still puzzled over why she was attacked. Nothing valuable was taken from her and she was not involved in any serious dispute they knew of.
