Blasts came from fake police cones, say cops
Wednesday January 11, 2012
KUALA LUMPUR: Police have refuted claims that two of the three explosive devices which rocked the Kuala Lumpur Courts Complex’s vicinity were placed under police cones.
City CID chief Senior Asst Comm Datuk Ku Chin Wah said the cones which were completely destroyed in the blasts were “bigger in size”.
“Although the colour was the same as a police cone, it was actually much bigger.
“Initially, we thought the cones belonged to the police but found it to be different after closer inspection and reconstruction,” he said here yesterday. On Monday, three explosions rocked the complex’s vicinity shortly after the High Court delivered its verdict on the sodomy case of Opposition Leader Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim.
The blasts, believed to be from home-made devices, resulted in five people being injured and five cars, a van and two motorcycles being damaged. SAC Ku said police believed the perpetrators had placed the devices inside the “clones” next to genuine police clones to make it “look the same” on the night before the incident. He said police had started placing police cones along the roadside of the complex on Sunday to prevent the public from parking their vehicles indiscriminately.
“So far, police have yet to receive any information on the incident. “We hope eye-witnesses can come forward to assist us,” he said. The case is being investigated under Section 6 of the Explosive Substances Act 1957 which carries a jail term of up to seven years, a fine of RM10,000 or both upon conviction.
So the mastermind decided to make 3 police traffic cones for the purpose of hiding the explosives under those cones, transport them there as he knows the police will use those traffic cones of that particualr colour. Surrounded by police officers, the mastermind managed somehow to carry these 3 cones and slipped them in right under their noses. Placed them in somehow without the police noticing the sizes are different and the additional cones placed there somehow fits all the right locations designated per cone as instructed by their superior.
I love watching lots of Looney Tunes cartoons, like The Road Runner and Foghorn Leghorn, and this police story must have copied one of their shows. A real comedy of errors and a sorry excuse of a police force.:oIo:
