Police arrest 21 people in joint enforcement operation

SINGAPORE: Police have arrested 21 people in a 21-hour joint enforcement operation that started at 7am on Tuesday.
The operation involved checks at public entertainment outlets and housing estates in Sembawang, Yishun, Ang Mo Kio, Hougang, Punggol and Serangoon.
11 people were arrested for drug-related offences, while 10 others were arrested for offences under the Common Gaming Houses Act.
Three entertainment outlets were also found to have breached licensing conditions.
Police said the 10 persons arrested for offences under the Common Gaming Houses Act are aged between 42 and 68 years old.
One of them would be charged in court on Thursday for operating a common gaming house, while five of them would be charged for gaming in a common gaming house.
Investigations against the other four persons are ongoing. - CNA/gn
