Ahead of Polling Day on 31 Aug 1991, Wooden, in his 1991 NDP Rally speech, raised the issue of Seet Ai Mee washing her hands after shaking hands with a fishmonger. She lost to SDP's Ling How Doong in Bukit Gombak in that election. This handshaking/handwashing incident was one reason given for her loss. It showed her as being elitist and out of touch with the working class and the ordinary man in the street whose votes she was courting.

Fast forward to 2011 and we have another PAP elitist handshaking incident. It shows President-wannabe, the elitist Tony Tan, whose claim to fame lies in his ability to produce offsprings who are able to secure 12 years of NS disruption, giving a phony handshake in his attempt to court votes.

Phony Tony must have felt cursed that the lowly fishmonger accepted his insincere offer of his phony handshake. Hopefully, that fishmonger is fully aware of his station in life and not feel insulted by Phony Tony.

Now the big question. Did Phony Tony wash his hands after shaking that fishmonger's hand?

It would be the type of genuine handshake Phony Tony normally reserves for those who have reached a certain station in life or for those who are important enough to be able to secure 12 years of NS disruption for their offsprings.
