it generates old school commercial advertising revenue for the publisher. you can't opt out. they will spam you and dump loads of books at your door like ah long will splash paint. :p
i wonder if they companies who advertise actually think its good value for money advertising?

But, in this FASCIST cuntry, our NRICs have so much information including your DoBs and blood types is circulating all over the island. Living in this Saddam Lee's state you really feel naked wor.
The funny thing about the NRIC part, even the evil govt approved of these loan sharks operations by blaming the peasants for using NRICs to borrow cash. And they didn't even blame the loan sharks. Disgusting !

info on the web and apps on smartphones are killing this business. the writing is on the wall. there are still old school customers who would rely on phone books for referals. for example, while in sg, i was able to find only a few cab companies with their numbers in the local yellow pages. obviously, these cab companies would get the bulk of business from visitors who had to rely on phone books for calling numbers. it's not a huge market, but it's niche, ensuring streams of revenue, albeit enough to continue to advertise on recycled paper.

I have opted out of land lines for years, I have not collected phone books for ages, didn't the have a choice in their collection slip for a CD? I did opted for the CD but then it was running on Windows 95 or something, it was damn crappy software, so I opted back for the printed version. But do we need the CD or the printed copies nowadays? where you can search for example, " Tua Kang Tow" contacts by google, or "tian , tian bu lai eating house..??
They still have phone book collection?? bring your own bags...get another book free..!!

If anyone read or notices that the "poodles" are just catching the "ikan bilis" loan sharks RUNNERS. So far, we have not heard or noticed they have nabbed the "Big SHARK", the REAL LOAN SHARK , the real thing...are the "poodles" in awe of them or are they "kawan-ku"??
