Having been in power for some 50 years, it will be hard for any organisation, let alone one such as the PAP which has its hands in every facet of life here in Singapore, to transform itself. It is, moreover, not the first time that the PAP has embarked on such a mission. We’ve seen similar attempts in the past as well, albeit with Singapore rather than the PAP, most notably the Remaking Singapore 21 initiative.

The PAP, simply put, is not just PAP the political party. The PAP is more than that. It is in the institutions, the media, the security forces, in the government-linked companies, in business, in the unions. Even in the civil service. Its beliefs and philosophy are entrenched in all sectors. The PAP pervades all levels of society.
