GE: Aljunied GRC advisor to focus on wider issues affecting S'pore

SINGAPORE: Besides working to ensure upgrading programmes for the Aljunied GRC have been delivered, Senior Minister of State for Foreign Affairs Zainul Abidin Rasheed said he is also addressing issues beyond the constituency.
These national issues, such as the rising cost of living, jobs and competition from foreign talent, are set to be hotly contested by the Worker's Party.
"It's a battle of the mind and also of the hearts. We have been explaining, for example, what we have been doing as a matter of programme, the budget, and the various schemes that we have brought up to help the needy. So this we will continue to explain and we will try to get people to our side to understand what is our approach. The facts are there, but we also have to ensure that we will win their hearts," said Mr Zainul.
Upgrading programmes for the Aljunied GRC include lift upgrading, home improvement and neighbourhood renewal programmes.
