The next Mat CEO will reinstate 6000 sacked employees and add 6000 more. This angmo has made a mistake. He is decreasing productivity when many m&ds are deprived of sleep. More folks, then productivity go up! This is Mat logic and culture, inborn and ingrained. Superior genes.

The same culture is now creeping into Singapore. Look at People's Association, GLCs and even positions given to retired Army and Police Officers in schools etc. When a politician or senior civil servant fails, he is placed in NTUC or a GLC. Look at Lim Chee Onn and Ong Ke Yung ...

I think the PAP gov't has the same problem, too many of the civil servants have "family" connections. Making major changes will be very hard because of too many have vested interests in maintaining the status quo.

Spot on, Johnny. Just take the example of the People's Association, which employed a percentage of the adult population with the sole job of keeping pap in control. A closer examination will find the same "doing nothing" and down stream supplier - supporter problem. But alas, that's the way 69.% wants it.

It takes 12 also to change a light bulb in HDB common area. 2 grassloot leaders to be present, 2 town council maintenance staff to supervise, 2 accountant from KPMG to check the cost of the light bulb, 2 staff from SPH to report and to take picture, 1 MP for photo op, one Bangla to hold the ladder, one bangla to change the lightbulb, and one contractor boss to supervise the 2 Banglas.

Yes, this Malaysian culture is slowly creeping into Singapore at all levels. Nothing wrong with sleeping. Everyone sleeps when they are tired. Sleeping on the job could mean they are tired. Nothing to do with lazy. No blame culture here please.

You work very hard & you need to take a snooze in the office, that's understandable....but in Matland....the work is very 'relax' one & everybody is sleeping on the job.
