Singapore is quite a 'special' case as many locals are not very intelligent and knowledgeable for the high-demanding jobs(after schooling in the North Korean style public schools and NS) so have to give some chance to hire some foreigners to make up.

If the Singapore government really want to help workers get more qualified and skilled for jobs, they must abolish the NS and stop schools from being so restrictive in how they teach children. Just look at how international schools are run and the freedom they have to be unique and creative. Stephanie Koh has complained about how the creativity is so poor in Singapore.
