Opposition chance of winning a GRC limited unless they overcome their Achilles Heel

According to the Straits Times Insight (read article here), the opposition parties have been stepping up their preparations for the next general election.

The WP has canvassed the heartland regularly, with members going on constituency walkabouts and door-to-door visits weekly.

The rest of the opposition are not sitting still, with several also making moves to stake their claims on constituencies.

While I applaud the opposition parties for starting their ground work now, it is unlikely they are able to win a GRC if there is no paradigm shift in their collective electoral strategy.

As the past few elections have shown, the various limited opposition parties have limited their collaboration largely to avoiding three cornered fights.

Each party fight their electoral battles in their own respective constituencies. There was no united front to organize the campaign under one single banner against the much more powerful ruling party.

It makes sense to pool resources together in the face of a well-organized grassroots machinery of the PAP. Opposition supporters and volunteers should set aside their personal petty differences and work for the greater goal of advancing the opposition cause in Singapore.

In typical Wayangparty trademark style, you show half an email, show half the facts, throw out half truths and then come out with a garbage statement talking about "collective electroral strategy" Nobody discloses strategy to any other party less the PAP gets hold of it. I am sure you will be delighted.

The only agreement that opposition parties need to reach is the the various turfs that are to be contested and to avoid any 3 cornered fights.
