Police arrested a 63-year old Indian man yesterday - believed to be involved in an assault case that took place at Bukit Batok Central on Wednesday.
It's believed the suspect attacked a 59-year old Indian woman at the void deck of Block 227 at around 430pm that day.
She suffered slash wounds to her head and is currently in a critial condition at the National University Hospital.
Police managed to establish the suspect's identity through extensive interviews and follow-up investigations.
They arrested him at Tanjong Penjuru near West Coast Road at around 10 last night.
The suspect will be charged in court tomorrow with voluntarily causing grevious hurt by a dangerous weapon.
If convicted, he could be jailed up to 15 years, fined or caned.
