A hospital is not an old folk's home. One of the reasons why there is often a shortage of beds in hospitals is because they are forced by circumstance beyond their control to feed and house people who have nowhere to go and nobody to take care of them when they are actually well enough to be discharged.

This is not the fault of the hospital. It is the fault of the family for not being filial. The younger generation are supposed to look after their parents and elderly relatives. The state cannot play nursemaid to everyone.

Of cos hospital fault. If cannot take care then don't boast about being first world etc etc.

Some hospitals have pit-stops enclave, for temporary occupancy........can't remember which one though.

A few years back, CGH has four to five beds clustering around the nurse counters......that was the time when
beds were in shortage and the hospitals are totally mismanaged, with lost files and pre-mature discharge, even when
the patient is still not well.......KNN, fucked type like hell.

That's why they are building more hospitals and more beds lah.
By 2030.

Don't be silly. They will want the returns on investment for building those additional hospitals, to cater to the increased demand from a population of 6.9 million, 10 million or higher. Do you think they will build more hospitals for catering to the same number of people?

So, by 2030, your Ah Mah, of peasant ancestry and lowly connections, will still be languishing on a makeshift 'bed' at the hospital corridor. Or they might run out of gurneys and your Ah Mah will sleep in a hammock or on a tiram.
