This is what I've read.
Two fellow climbers gave up their goal(and money spent) to reach the summit in order to save the dying woman. As promised. they've already paid the $10,000 rescue fee to the Sherpas who have helped bring the woman to safety.
She could only pay $4000 plus $1300 as tip.
FYI, Sherpas earn about $100 for a 10-hour daily shift work. The Sherpas took only four hours to bring her to a base camp.
Anyway, it's a problem between the climbers and the woman they've saved.
